Program Description
1. Time for Application / Study
This course is open all year round. Learners can apply for the course at any time and will be assigned in different classes according to the number of the applicants and their Chinese level.
Class hours option 1: In Spring / Autumn semester, courses will be carried out at night and weekends according to learners’ schedule after work. The class hours are at most 20 hours per week.
Class hours option 2: On summer session (From June to August) and winter session (From January to February), courses will be carried out by on-line teaching. 20 class hours per week from Monday to Friday.
Note: The summer session of 2020 will be from Aug. 3 to Aug. 28 (4 weeks). Application deadline: July 31.
Appropriate teaching plans can be made for learners who apply in team or have unique demand.
2. Teaching Objectives
After short-time training, learners will
1. Improve the ability of listening, speaking, and reading significantly.
2. Master the vocabulary and expressions of guide and hotel arrangement.
3. Cope with common tourism conversation proficiently.
3. Curriculum Arrangement
We adopt a Progressing Learning Mode to improve learners’ Chinese level progressively. Students will be assigned into Beginner class, Intermediate class or Advanced class according to the placement test. We focus more resources on Beginner and Intermediate classes, while the advanced class can be more flexible and students can choose to continue the advanced class according to their study.
4. Weekly Teaching ArrangementBeginner Class
3 class hours of Pronunciation Correction: Correcting learners’ pronunciation, rhyme, tone and pace.
6 class hours of Tourism Chinese Vocabulary and Chinese Characters: Practising tourism vocabulary and reading Chinese characters.
8 class hours of Oral Tourism Chinese (Elementary Level): Practising communicative-orientated tourism conversation.
3 class hours of Chinese Culture (Elementary Level): Knowing about Chinese cultures.Intermediate Class
6 class hours of Comprehensive Tourism Chinese A: Teaching and practising tourism vocabulary and grammar structures.
4 class hours of Tourism Chinese Reading (Intermediate Vocabulary): Improving the ability on reading common tourism materials.
6 class hours of Audio-Visual Tourism Chinese (Intermediate Level): Simulating real tourist conversation and practising listening and speaking.
4 class hours of China + Tourist Geography: Knowing about geography of China; learning Chinese tourism resources; Mastering relevant expressions of tourism geography.Advanced Class
6 class hours of Comprehensive Tourism Chinese B: Teaching and practising advanced tourism vocabulary and expressions.
4 class hours of Tourism Chinese Reading (Advanced Vocabulary): Improving the ability on reading complex tourism materials.
6 class hours of Tourism Audio-Visual Chinese (Advanced Level): Simulating real tourist conversation (Long expression).
4 class hours of Comparisons between Chinese History and Folk-Customs: Knowing about the history of tourism; mastering folk-custom and culture of tourism by comparison.5. Teaching Form
The short-term training program will be carried out by live-streaming to guarantee the effect and quality of teaching. We provide immersive Chinese learning environment, detailed explanations, abundant practices and group-work exercise to achieve interactive effects.
Online platforms: ZOOM, Tencent Meeting, Confucius Institute Online, etc.
6. Tuition
Enrollment Fee: RMB 450
Tuition:
Short-term (four weeks): RMB 3300 for 4 weeks (from the fifth week, RMB 800 per week)
Long-term: RMB 9800 / semester
7. Preparation For Class
Please download Wechat APP and register an account. Make sure the email or other contacts are available.
8. Certificate
CNU will issue Certificate of Completion and transcript (both are scanning versions) to the students attending the programs. Students with excellent performance can be admitted first and receive scholarship if they apply for diploma courses of Capital Normal University.
